2012 Envirothon
This event is a competitive event for middle school (grades 6 to 8) teams of four to five students and high school(grades 9 to 12) teams of five who compete in natural resource knowledge, hands-on field day against other teams. Resource subject areas include aquatics, forestry, soils, wildlife and a current environmental issue. Teams compete against other schools for prizes, and the chance to attend the State Envirothon. |

Clean Water Lawn & Yard Care Seminar
You are invited to a free Clean Water Lawn & Yard Care Seminar that will review new techniques to protect our lakes and rivers. You will learn about the importance of a soil test using leaf-litter compost on lawns; the definition o aerated compost tea and ways to reduce the use of synthetic fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. Learning Center, 13550 Dakota Avenue, Savage. Greg Emerick of Vermagreen Organics will present the basics of using compost and aerated compost tea on lawns and gardens as a way to build soil health and reduce the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. |

Scott SWCD Board Meeting
The Scott Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors meets on the third Wednesday of each month. The meetings are held in the Conference Center at the Extension and Conservation Building, 7151 190th Street West, Jordan. The public is welcome to attend all meetings.
