For many years, we have honored Scott County landowners who have taken extra steps to put conservation improvements on their land. We recognized them monthly through the Land Steward Program. In 2011, we expanded on this program and renamed it the Conservation Leaders Program. We want to pay tribute to landowners, agencies and businesses in Scott County who believe in protecting and preserving our water and soil resources -- whether it’s stabilizing the bank of a stream that runs through their property, adding a grassed waterway adjacent to their farmland, sealing an abandoned well or installing an unique and innovative practice.
