The Shoreline Restoration
Project was done as a demonstration site to show the
alternatives to rock only shoreline protection. This
project will restore a native shoreline improving aesthetics
and aquatic and wildlife habitat.
Major project activities included:
- Bio Log installed at the shoreline to break up wave
action
- Native aquatic plant plugs were planted into the bio
log for long term shoreline protection
- Native wet meadow and upland plants and plugs with
mulch were planted in the transitional area between the
shoreline and top of the bank.
Project funding: Total project cost was $1,368.00
