How to Build a Raingarden Workshop April 12th

Looking to add some color to your yard? Or do you have a wet spot that just won’t go away? We can help! The Scott SWCD is hosting a free introductory workshop to teach you the basics of creating a raingarden. A raingarden is a small basin of colorful native plants that add beauty to your yard while collecting storm water runoff from your roof, lawn, and driveway. They can be tailored to fit whatever dimensions your property has, and are a great way to add pollinator habitat.

Where: 20381 Fairlawn Ave, Prior Lake, MN 55372. Register here
When: Wednesday, April 12th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The workshop will give you step-by-step instructions to help you successfully plant a raingarden, and provide you with examples of completed projects done right here in Scott County. The course will be taught by Scott SWCD Natural Resource Specialist, Meghan Darley and Scott SWCD Resource Conservation Technician, Hannah Plonsky.
An incentive of $250 to $500 may be available to help offset the costs of plants, compost, and labor if you install your raingarden. The workshop is FREE, but registration is requested. Register on the Scott SWCD's eventbrite page or by calling Shelby Roberts at the Scott SWCD office at 952-492-5448
