This summer the Scott SWCD is hosting an intern through the Conservation Corps of Minnesota and Iowa. We are excited to have Colin Smisek join our team for the summer. Colin will be working on a variety of projects including invasive species mapping, urban conservation assessments, as well as assisting staff with BMP survey and design work. So far this summer he has been helping out with water quality monitoring, status reviews, and sub watershed assessments.
Colin recently graduated from St. John's University with a major in biology and a minor in the German language. He has experience educating the public on aquatic invasive species. He also was part of an environmental education program at St. John's University that teaches children about the environment. Colin enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, and golfing.
Colin will work with the Scott SWCD from May – August 2018.
