The Scott SWCD is always excited to welcome a new member of the team, and this summer we're delighted to bring back our usual summer internship opportunity. We're excited to introduce Anna Prchal as our summer intern for this year!
Anna says she's excited to be interning with Scott SWCD this summer. She graduated from New Prague High School and ventured out to South Dakota State University where she just completed her second year. She is currently majoring is Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering with an emphasis in Water and Natural Resources Engineering and a minor in Sustainability. Amazing!
"I am thrilled to join Scott SWCD," She says, "where I can combine my passions for agriculture and the environment. This internship will offer me new opportunities and experiences to learn about and appreciate our environment. I have already learned so much and I am eager to continue through the summer!"
This summer, she will conduct erosion and sediment control inspections on construction sites, collect water quality samples and data at multiple sites, inspect best management practices to verify proper operation, complete buffer law compliance reviews, and much more.
In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors. You could find her helping out on her century family farm, fishing, snowmobiling, hiking, or downhill skiing.
We're happy to have her on board!
