Lawns are the cornerstone of outdoor family activities & memories. Maintaining an aesthetic, low-maintenance, and functional outdoor space doesn’t have to be overwhelming! To support residents, the Scott Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is teaming up with the University of Minnesota (UMN) Extension, Scott County cities, and local watersheds to offer help on residential lawn tips!

Join SWCD and UMN turfgrass specialists for a free, introductory workshop focused on practical, research‑based lawn care for Minnesota homeowners. You’ll learn how everyday lawn decisions affect local water quality and how simple changes can make your lawn more resilient, sustainable, and easier to maintain. The workshop will provide an overview of our local water quality challenges, providing practical ways to reduce runoff pollutants from your yard that might be contributing to water quality issues, along with improving pollinator habitat.
Who should attend:
Homeowners interested in low-maintenance lawns
Anyone wanting to reduce lawn inputs like water and fertilizer
